He’s currently serving as the Medical Director at South Jersey Aesthetics in Cape May Courthouse / Avalon, NJ and Medical Director of Laser Remedy in Philadelphia, PA.

After graduating from medical school at PCOM in 1998, Dr. Daniel Francis had a wide variety of interest in all types of medicine which included General Surgery, Trauma Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Obstetrics, Gastroenterology and Emergency Medicine.  After discussion and advice from a senior physician advisor, Dr. Francis chose to complete a family medicine residency which in the appropriate setting would allow him to practice the wide variety of medicine he desired. Dr. Daniel Francis completed a family medicine residency at Christiana Care Health Services.  During this training Dr. Francis chose to acquire additional training in Obstetrics and in addition to Gastroenterology where he was assigned to the GI laboratory performing a month of endoscopies.

After Dr. Daniel Francis completed his residency he found a position in rural west Texas in which he practice the wide variety of medicine he desired.  Dr. Daniel Francis worked for the Gaines County Hospital District in Seminole, Texas from 2001 – 2004. Dr. Francis thrived in this environment, where he was the became Medical Director of the Seminole Family Medical Clinic, eventually requiring and supervising three midlevel practitioners who saw most of the outpatients while Dr. Francis provided inpatient care, performed 1st assist on all surgeries, performed upper and lower endoscopies, performed cardiac stress tests, and obstetrical services. It was here that Dr. Daniel Francis had the highlight of his career when he c-sectioned his wife and delivered his second daughter Layla.  Dr. Francis also worked fulltime as an emergency physician for Southwest Medical Associates in Seminole, Texas. After two years, at 31 years old, Dr. Daniel Francis became the Chief of Staff at Seminole Memorial Hospital as well as the Medical Director of the Nursing Home and Charter Medical Director of the Hospice program. In 2003, Dr. Francis obtained his first exposure to cosmetic surgery when he obtained training in Botox and the dermal fillers using collagen named Cosmoderm and Cosmoplast

Due to family health reasons, in 2004 Dr. Daniel Francis urgently returned to New Jersey with his young family.

Initially returning without a job, he quickly found employment as a traveling emergency physician.  After traveling for a couple years Dr. Francis grew tired of being away from his family. A friend who owned East End Salon in Philadelphia urged him to perform Botox and dermal fillers at his location.  At his persistence Dr. Francis ultimately agreed to open his first aesthetics practice which included purchasing an Elite Laser platform from Cynosure which included a Yag and Alexandrite laser. This device allowed treatment of laser hair removal of all skin types as well as treatment of spider veins.

It was at this time that Cynosure had just brought the first FDA approved Laser-assisted Liposuction device the Smart Lipo.  Learning of the extensive surgical experience Dr. Francis obtained in while in Texas a representative of Cynosure urged Dr. Daniel Francis to obtain training in Liposuction.  At this urging, in 2007 Dr. Francis went to Florida to train under Dr. Reynolds where he was trained in various techniques including the SmartLipo, VASER (ultrasound assist) and traditional liposuction. Over the following 10 years, Dr. Francis accumulated extensive experience in various cosmetic procedures.

Dr. Daniel Francis’s latest post:

In 2017, Dr. Francis decided to exclusively focus on non-invasive facial aesthetics and became the Medical Director of Laser Remedy in Philadelphia where he has injected thousands of patients with Botox and Juvederm. In 2019, Dr. Daniel Francis opened South Jersey Aesthetics after becoming a Platinum Injector for Allergan. He currently works with individuals to assess and treat their aesthetic skin concerns through cosmetic procedures primarily using Botox and Juvederm.

Botox is used to treat “dynamic wrinkles” or wrinkles which appear with facial expression. Botox works to relax the facial muscles and release tension. The main three treatment areas are the angry brow aka “eleven lines” which appears when scowling or thinking, the forehead which appears while raising the eyebrows, and “crows feet” which appears when smiling.

Dermal Fillers such as Juvederm are primarily used to volumize a patient’s face and reduce the appearance of fine lines or wrinkles Compared to many other cosmetic procedures, Botox and Juvederm are attractive options because they can be administered in just a few minutes.

What sets Dr. Daniel Francis apart from others is the specialized care and technique he puts into working with each patient. He wants his clients to look and feel their best leaving his office. Dr. Francis has taken steps to reduce the swelling and pain that often accompanies filler injections. Due to the extensive experience Dr. Francis has using cannulas during liposuction, this has translated to an expertise using microcannulas in the face to inject Juvederm and other dermal fillers.

Injecting the face with dermal fillers is not without risk. In addition to swelling and bruising there is always a risk of intravascular injection of filler causing an occlusion of that vessel. This can result in skin necrosis as well as blindness. Using a blunt tipped microcannula to inject dermal filler almost eliminates this risk. While a needle can pierce a blood vessel with ease, a blunt tipped microcannula easily works its way under the skin causing very little trauma.

The micocannula technique uses a blunt tipped cannula which resembles a needle but is not sharp. This significantly increases the safety of injecting fillers, reduces pain, swelling and bruising compared to using a needle. As a medical professional, Dr. Francis also knows that it’s imperative to manage the expectations of the patients that come into his office. He wants to help patients look their best in a realistic and safe manner that will work best for them.

At the end of the day, Dr. Daniel Francis loves the work he does because it affords him a chance to change people’s lives in an impactful way and really improve their overall quality of wellbeing. His favorite procedure to perform is correcting under the eye volume loss. This process makes patients look well rested and can make a patient look ten years younger instantaneously.
